Subaru WRX: codename: Superion WRX

This is the last project of my demo reel. It all started with a sketch of a modified, cartoon styled Subaru WRX. The rest is how the project unfolded.

After I made the sketch, I began to model the real Subaru WRX. Once that model was finished, I used the lattuce tool to squish, raise, and stretch the car to get it lookng just like my sketch. I wanted this car to be differnt from the rest of the models you see so I thought about using toon shaders to get a unique effect. After rendering it and sleeping on it a couple days, I decided not to go with this shader and try something new. I then tried using shaders that made the car look alive and electryified. Using proper specular highlights and colors, the WRX came alive. On a side project, I learned fluid effects and made fire come out the exhaust in the back. Check the picture to see it in action.
